Blessed Be the Name of the Lord.

Some songs have the unique ability to both make me worship the Lord and cry at the same time.

“Blessed Be Your Name” is one of those songs.

What other song can I sing, eyes closed as I tell God how much I love him and that I call him good — and yet have tears streaming down my face as my heart breaks for something that has happened in my life.

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

When life is up, and all is well- I will bless his name, for He is good.

Blessed Be Your name
When I’m found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name
When my family abandons me, my friends turn their backs and I am alone. I will praise His name. I realise that I may be lonely, but I am not alone– for He is with me.
Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name
When the darkness closes in then it is that I have the closest fellowship with Him as I cling to him. Relying on Him, rather than on myself. His name is blessed, a strong tower to hide myself in.
Blessed be Your name
When the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s ‘all as it should be’
Blessed be Your name

In mountaintop experiences I will praise him. The Lord desires to give me good things.

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

When I am afraid, when my heart squeezes with pain until I am empty and can cry no more I realise that I am safe in His arms. His love is unconditional. With God- I am enough.

Every blessing You pour out
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name

Everything is in God’s hands. Whatever I am going through, He is Steadfast, his words are True and his love is Unconditional. Blessed be the name of the Lord. 🙂

What are some songs that have touched your heart? I’d love to listen to them. 🙂

What a lovely song. Simply beautiful. I’ve never heard of Christy Nockels before, I’m sure I’ll listen to more of her music. Thank you so much for sharing. 🙂

Hi Susan. Fancy seeing you here! 🙂 I LOVE “Praise you in this Storm” as well. I’m listening to “The Anchor Holds” right now on your suggestion. Ray has a lovely voice and powerful lyrics. Thank you for the suggestion. 🙂
